Cambium Networks has published a further official update, supplementing the notice from September 17, 2026. Here are the key points for you, summarized:
Airspan Communications acquires large parts of the Cambium portfolio
On September 22, 2026, Cambium Networks and Airspan Communications Limited reached an agreement on the sale of parts of the business. Airspan is acquiring the defense business as well as key product lines from the fixed broadband segment. These include, among others, the PMP 450 platform, PTP 670, PTP 450i, PTP 700, the 28/60 GHz cnWave products, and cnReach.
The associated planning and management software – including LINKPlanner, cnHeat, and, in this context, also cnMaestro for these product lines – is likewise being taken over by Airspan.
For the remaining business units of Cambium Networks, the appointed administrators from RSM UK Restructuring Advisory continue to search for further buyers.
cnMaestro Cloud – migration offer still stands
There is currently no new information regarding the continued availability of cnMaestro Cloud. However, the existing offer to migrate from the cloud to an on-premise solution remains in place. This means users still have the option of moving their systems from cnMaestro Cloud to a local solution in a controlled manner.
Work is also continuing on an on-premise solution for Network Service Edge (NSE), which will be made available to existing users in the future.

Information for our partners and customers
A brief update on our previous notice about the Cambium situation:
cnMaestro Cloud is expected to become unavailable from September 30, 2026
Based on the current situation, cnMaestro Cloud is expected to become unavailable from September 30, 2026. Your hardware itself will keep running, but without controller functions – central management, monitoring, and configuration via the cloud interface would no longer be possible.
We are now offering you a solution
We are now offering to onboard your Cambium infrastructure with us and migrate it to our on-premise solution in our own data center. Migration of your existing cnMaestro configuration must be completed by September 30, 2026 at the latest. After this date, onboarding will no longer be possible due to the lack of cloud connectivity, based on the current situation. We therefore recommend getting in touch with us as soon as possible.

Your 4Networks team
Over the past few days, many of our customers and partners have been asking us about the situation at Cambium Networks. As a distributor, we want to be transparent about what we know so far – even though reliable information is currently very scarce.
What happened?
On September 14, 2026, the UK subsidiary Cambium Networks Ltd. was placed under the control of insolvency administrators (RSM UK Restructuring Advisory). At the same time, 260 employees worldwide – more than half of the workforce – were laid off without severance. The US parent company (Cambium Networks Corporation) is not formally covered by the insolvency proceedings, but is also in a strained financial position.
This development came as a surprise to us as a distributor, just as it did to the rest of the market. Other European Cambium distributors have also publicly reported that they only learned of the severity of the situation through these events.
No official statement from the manufacturer
This is the key point we need to state clearly here: Cambium Networks has, to date, at no point made an official, binding statement to us or to other distributors. Press inquiries from trade media go unanswered, and support and sales contacts are not responding. We ourselves sent a list of specific questions to management – so far without any response. Other Cambium distributors in Europe are publicly reporting the same experience: they are waiting for clarity just as we are.
What we are hearing from informal sources
In addition to the officially confirmed facts above, we are receiving further information from industry conversations. We want to stress explicitly: this does not come from Cambium itself and has not been officially confirmed so far. We are passing it on nonetheless, as it reflects the current state of discussion in the industry – please treat it with appropriate caution:
- Cambium Networks is reportedly not going to continue in its current form.
- A buyer is reportedly being actively sought for the PMP and PTP business (point-to-multipoint and point-to-point radio technology) – a deal is said to be expected as early as this week.
- A separate search for a buyer is reportedly also underway for the ePMP business.
- It is unclear what will happen to the microwave/backhaul business (based on Ceragon technology) – a quiet wind-down of this segment appears possible.
- For the enterprise WLAN and switching segment, there is currently no reliable information on whether, or to whom, this business unit will be sold.
Should anything reliable change here, we will inform you immediately.
What does this mean for you as a customer?
- Ongoing projects: We are trying to continue handling existing deliveries and orders as usual, to the extent our current stock allows.
- Support and RMA: Regular manufacturer support is effectively no longer reachable. We remain your point of contact for urgent cases, but cannot guarantee a response from the manufacturer.
- Cloud services (cnMaestro): According to our information, the cloud team was exempted from the layoffs, and we have been assured that cnMaestro will remain available until further notice. However, we cannot provide a long-term guarantee – if you rely heavily on cloud management, you should look into alternatives as a precaution.
- New projects: We recommend no longer planning new projects primarily around Cambium, and instead evaluating alternatives early on.
We are here for you
We have already been working intensively on possible alternatives and are available to our partners and customers for personal consultations. Together, we want to secure ongoing projects and existing infrastructure and find viable solutions for the future. Feel free to reach out – we will work through the next steps together with you.
What happens next?
We remain in contact with the relevant parties and are following developments closely. As soon as we receive reliable, official information, we will inform you immediately – through this channel as well as directly through your contacts at 4Networks.
If you have questions about your specific project or possible alternative solutions, please feel free to reach out to your usual contact at any time.

Why Cambium?
One platform spanning everything from hotel Wi-Fi to mission-critical wireless links.
Cambium Networks is one of the few manufacturers offering enterprise Wi-Fi and carrier-class wireless from a single source – each including switching (cnMatrix) and management (cnMaestro). This makes Cambium the right package for operators who need more than just indoor APs.
Whether you are planning a stadium roll-out, covering a school network with a large outdoor area, building a regional WISP network, or setting up a NATO-compliant wireless link: the Cambium portfolio has a proven platform for it.
As a Value Add Distributor in Germany, 4Networks supports you with wireless planning, cnMaestro onboarding, ePMP/PMP roll-out and – in sensitive environments – with Cambium PTP 700 projects for government and military.
You can find more on PTP 700 on our dedicated page for Cambium PTP 700 wireless technology.
